Garlic Process

  • October | Plant Garlic

We recruited family to help us plant garlic. We started at 8 a.m. and finished by 2 p.m.

See more planting pictures on our Facebook page.

  • January | Cold Cycle

Hardneck garlic has to go through a cold cycle – so Wisconsin is the perfect place to grow it!

  • April | It’s Growing!

All of the garlic is coming out of the ground. Mary loves checking with garlic with us!

  • May | Over a foot tall

Garlic is growing and we slowing move some of the straw back.

  • June | Garlic scape season

Looking for an extra item to spice up your family dinner? We recommend adding garlic scapes. When eaten raw, they are spicy and have a strong garlic flavor. If you grill, saute or bake the garlic scape it will be more mild.

  • July | Harvest

We harvest the garlic in July and let is cure (or dry) for 3-4 weeks. Then it’s ready in August for you to purchase!
