We started our garlic adventure in the fall of 2018 by planting 5 lbs of garlic. Joanna is borderline obsessed with garlic and got Brian hooked.
We enjoy garlic farming. We are successful because we work together as a team.
Brian’s role
Brian is an engineer by day and a garlic farmer on the weekends! He is the mastermind behind plotting out our garlic and inventing our tools for planting and harvesting.
Joanna’s role
Joanna is the green thumb – she loves to garden! She keeps the garlic weed free and checks on it daily. Joanna keeps records and captures all the photos and videos. Her day job is a farm broadcaster.
Mary, Bruce, Eva & Amy
Mary is becoming more helpful and enjoys checking on the garlic. She helped prepare and clean up the garlic. Bruce loves riding the tractor. Eva enjoys being outdoors and helping mom or dad with garlic projects. Amy joined our family this year and loves being close to mom.

Fun Facts about Brian and Joanna
- They got married during Blizzard Evelyn on April 14, 2018
- They went to Iceland for their honeymoon and documented the trip
- Brian pulls mini rods with the Wisconsin Tractor Pullers Association
- Joanna ran a marathon while Brian studied abroad in Sweden
- They both served as Wisconsin State FFA Officers
- They had their first baby less than 24 hours after planting garlic
- They had their second baby three days after harvesting garlic
- We have four kids that are 5 years old to 4 months!
